Last of the Daily December Album Pages...

So these are the last few pages from my Daily December album (and no 14 again because I changed it a little). I must say it's a pretty satisfying feeling looking at this completed project on the mantle!! And I am also enjoying watching the pages build every 3-4 days for my digital 365 album. But I am hankering to get down to my table and feel up some paper and scissors!

Talk about organised!

I was really quite keen to have some homemade Christmassy stuff around our house this year and I did do a couple of small things (and lots for others) but not as much as I would have liked. I am hoping that by this time next year I will have made a little village that the kids can set up something like this only probably not half as cool!

In the mean time I did do this a week or so rather than leaving it till the last half of the year which is all one thing after another around here!

The tree is Kaiser and the papers are a variety including Basic Grey.

I may decorate it next year depending on how it all fits in once I unpack the decorations next year.

What's this 365 thing?

365 Projects have been around for a l-o-n-g time now it simply involves taking a photo-a-day for a year. Last year my 366 (it was a leap year) project was Will. And while I will be continuing to take a picture a day of Will and putting them together in the same way I did last year I have also decided to embark on a more general 365 project something like a diary of our life this year. I am scrapbooking it digitally with this template from The Daily Digi. At the end of the year I will have a 104 plus page scrapbook of our year. I am not sure if using the same template all year will get monotonous or not. I am thinking I could change it with the seasons (I do think the current one is very summery)... but I'll see how I go.

If you like the idea you could start now- there's no need to start on the 1st of January... it's just what I wanted to do.

So what's happening with the blogs Gypsy?

Here's the plan...

See.Share.Remember will remain my scrapbooking blog and will have all the stuff that I create on it. Including the Digital pages for this years 365 project, the first of which I posted yesterday. This way I can direct clients here and if I get all enthusiastic and decide to try for Design Teams etc (unlikely) then I have somewhere for people to check out my work.

Down the Right of Way will be our family blog where I share all our goings on and the scary inner workings of my brain.

Cool?

I think so.

Cheers.

I love you Tomorrow

Mentally, I am working on a big blog post a decent one that tells you what we have been doing and has lots of photos in it. I am well aware that I haven't written one of those in ages and really just said where we are at right now. I have also made a decision on what's going to happen with the blogs so I'll be sorting that one out as well soon... Les is away at the end of the week so I'll have a few nights where I can monopolise the computer without guilt or interruption so hopefully you'll see some good stuff from me soon... in the meantime you'll just have to accept this lot off my scrapbooking table on Sunday....

Ta

As part of one of the scrapbooking challenges on the lists I am on there was a challenge to Make a scrapbooked postcard that has a compliment on it and leave it; at a cafe, in a library book, in a strangers mail box or some other place where someone will find it. I made mine for the neighbour across the road who I don't know... briefly, it said; thanks for their Christmas Lights display.

Those eyes. That Colour.

I've said before that I still don't know what colour Will's eyes are... they are in fact three colours... Dark steely blue on the outside, beside which is a cloudy pale green and then there is a mane of hazel around the pupil.... I've honestly never seen such a thing....

THE word for 2009...

I made a little mini-album to help me along with my word of the year... I have three main goals that focus on the following three areas....

Each of these three areas has it's own set of mini goals/guidelines... which are kind of personal which is why I haven't shown those pages.

And this....

....is the back cover. Unsurprisingly I am kind of drawn to scrapbooking items with birds on them at the moment- luckily there's lots out there.

Last of the DD's

Ok so as you can see I am in holiday mode and the blog is taking a back seat while I read and scrapbook and swim and gallivant and do other odds and sods. Today's post is a bit of a catch up as I have just gone to sit down and finish my Daily December Album only to realise that I don't have any journalling for the last few days of December. So with no further ado....

Daily December #28

After the previous days jaunt to Albany Mall for the day after boxing day sales and mini movie marathon. Today was spent quite simply at home eating left overs, playing, swimming, tiding the scrapbooking room and just generally relaxing... what better day really- this is what holidays are all about.

Daily December #29

Scrapbooking room tidy. I scrapbooked. Not nearly for the whole day as I would have wished but there is a baby to take care of and a family to socialise with. 7 pages was a nice bunch though so there's a good dose of satisfaction here!

Daily December #30
Having been keen to practically stay the night on Christmas Eve I suggested to Kieran's friend Jake that we would be hanging as a family until at least the 29th. This was taken by both boys to mean "Jake can come on the 29th" and so the phone rang around 9:01am. I have to admit as I was busy in the scraproom when he was here I didn't get any photos of the various computer, swimming, electronic and sporting antics they got up to and so this is a make up photo... but you get the gist!

Daily December #31
There's a lot of renewed and new interest in Lego and Duplo in our house with all three kids on the receiving end of new packs from Santa. It's the good inventive fun sort of play that I really like even if it does involve a truck load of mess.

Round-up~ December

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?

Creating Keepsakes, Healthy Food Guide, Next, Notebook (love this mag, can't afford to buy it don't want to take up space saving it... so I only get it every so often and I couldn't resist the Christmas cover). Better Homes and Gardens- December and Christmas Editions... it's a yearly tradition for me!

What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?

Outrageous Fortune series three (thanks Flybuys!), Napoleon Dynamite, Doctor Who, Back to the Future (Can you tell that Kieran was home sick??), Taladega Nights, Blades of Glory, Night at the Museum.

What special days did I celebrate?

Will's Birthday, Christmas

What gifts did I give and/or receive?

A Present for Harrison for his birthday/naming. Will's birthday pressies. Lot's of cool Christmas pressies too many to mention. Best was probably Les' and the Good Will Gift. And a lotto ticket for Pop Rae.

What illnesses or health concerns did we have?

Merenia and Wil AND Kieran: the Chicken Pox.

What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?

Christmas decorating, Santa Photo, visited Room 20 with Ninja Baby

What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?

Cafe Rae! For Christmas Dinner, Frank Feijoa and Pear, the Strawberry shop Ice creams- yum!

What special or unusual purchases did I make?

This year our good will Christmas gift was for a little 5 year old girl who was or had recently been in the care of The Women's Refuge. We normally put something under the KMart Wishing Tree but I like this better as you have a name and I think it meant a lot more thought went into the pressie. We also got something little for her Mum as well... I may have gone a little overboard but it's worth it.

What were this month's disappointments?

December was a bit of a disappointment all over mostly because the chicken pox threw everything out... there was some other stuff but it's best not to dwell on it isn't it!

What were my accomplishments this month?

December daily. Running around all over town and looking after three sick kids whilst simultaneously getting ready for Christmas and Will's first birthday!

Anything else noteworthy to record?

Probably but I can't remember them!
