Cheeky Monkey

I've since removed the extra 'E' it took me a while to realise though. As an illustration of how brain dead I was obviously being; I put the complete word 'Cheekey' down the bottom before I realised it was in the wrong place. Then swaped the whole thing to the top without thinking about the fact that I could have left the 'key' in place- duh!!
I am addicted to pompom trim did you notice?

Scrapbooking Mojo-inator

I've got scrapbooking mojo issues. I did actually spend the better part of today at my scrapbook table but that was only because we are about to head away for the week and I still hadn't finished my December Daily Album. BUT I still wasn't really in my groove and loving it. And that for me is a HUGE problem because creating nourishes my soul! So I thought I'd put together a post of some random stuff some that I love and some not so much. Here 'tis in no particular order....

Favourite Tool:
I have an excellent pair of tweezers that I love, real medical grade scalpels which are incredible, and a set of mini files that Les loaned me that I wouldn't be without by my absolute favourite tool is.......

The Zutter Bind it All!

My Reading List:
Books are a great place to turn for scrapbooking inspiration. I love all of Ali Edwards books. But the books that really rock my socks are:

Autumn Leaves 'Designing With...' series

And all 5 of Donna Downey's books (Fabric Scrapbooking not pictured)...

Favourite Pattern Stamps;

Anything with Circles (or Paisley) these are all Hero Arts...

Favourite Image Stamp:

This Little Owl (Stamps up awesomely and looks great embossed) Inkadinkado

Favourite Text Stamp:

This one by Hero Arts

Most over rated (in my opinion):

Making Memories and Martha Stewart

Now don't get me wrong MM makes some really yummy stuff as does MS but MS is SERIOUSLY over priced and MM has attained hero worship status with some scrapbookers and considering the wealth of excellent product out there I don't think they deserve it!

Most Used Tool:

My Smiggle Stapler... fast and easy and with coloured staples lots of fun!

Most Recent Purchase:

Bella felt and Christmas Paper and Basic Grey paper (rht) from Spotlights big sale. (I've used some of the felt already- easier to use that the adhesive stuff for sure!(

I organise my gear:

By Colour. See...

Most Helpful Method of Organisation:

Paper Scraps Drawers by Colour... SO easy to pull out a drawer and find what I want I am sure I save mega bucks because of this......

Love Having....

My ribbons out on display.... I just didn't use them enough when they were all packed away...

Best things I did lately:

I just finished collecting ALL of Tim Holtz' Distress Ink Colours (let's not talk about the fact he is bringing out 12 more at CHA winter- curse you Tim!) I took the time to cut some stickers and ink them up with the inks so I can see what I want at a glance. (I did my Staz-on too) it makes me SO happy!

Most Recent Coolest Find...

I love this little cotton reel that I picked up lately it was the base of my mini pipe cleaner tree but I am sure it has even more potential than that so I didn't pack it away with the Christmas Decorations.

(Please note the images below each artist's name is their own work. I have only included work by artists whose website copyright info allows this- please read it for yourself before you try doing anything with these images. In fact for all of the artists below I highly recommend that you go check out their sites.)

Favourite Scrapbook Artists:

That I know:

Miss Wendy
she has a distinct style all her own and she rocks Off the Page Projects and uses unlikely materials in super cool ways!

When I'm on a Mission to get stuff done:

Ali Edwards

When I am doing digital:

Cathy Zielske
(not traditionally a digital scrapbooker but seriously rockin' it lately!)

When I want my mind blown:

Tim Holtz:

When I want it blown more:

Irene Tan

When I am working Off The Page:

Donna Downey

When I'm feeling all artsy fartsy and generally my overall fave:

Julie Fei-Fan Balzer
Seriously go check out her stuff!!

A handy tip:

Label remover is GREAT for cleaning off sticky gunked up scissors and such.

Current Obsessions:

Cute, Fruit, Butterflies and Birds

Always on my Wish List:

Punches: Circles, Borders, Squares, Ovals: Scalloped or plain.

Thing I hate most to buy:

Glue dots.... you never see them and imagine what other cool stuff you could buy with the $11!! BUT I would never be without them!

Thing I love to buy:

Photo Splits... If I'm buying more I must have used lots!!

Favourite place to Buy Digi Products (and get Digi Tips):

The Daily Digi

Item I am currently coveting:

Sassafras' New Range (I haven't seen it yet, but I KNOW!)

A Pink Zutter Corner Rounder and

Tim Holtz' Tiny Attacher:

Tool I almost NEVER use:

equal second: My Craft Robo (bad scrapbooker!) and my Making Memories Grommet Tool

first: Basic Grey Notch and Die Cutting Tool

Item purchased most recently but still hanging out to play with:

Really looking forward to having a play and using on a project these two stamps...
(Hero Arts Clouds and Stampin' Up French Flair)

Last Etsy Purchase:

Actually my only Etsy Purchase as yet. Tiny Tinsel and Pompom Trim
(which I am TOTALLY in love with!!!)

If I owned my own store 'must stock' companies for me would be:
  1. Sassafras
  2. Jenni Bowlin
  3. Cosmo Cricket
  4. Tim Holtz Idea-Ology and Stampers Anonymous
  5. Ranger Inks
  6. Prima
