Reading Now: The Look Book

Published by Autumn Leaves (who also do the Designing With Series) in 2006- this was another trade-me bargain.
Supposedly this book will help you to identify your style. I'm not convinced that it does do that, but it does have some good scrapbook layout eye candy! There are eight chapters;
  1. Storytelling (looking at different ways to tell your story)
  2. Real Simple (designing simple LO's)
  3. When I was a kid (looks at using those good old photos from your childhood)
  4. Celebrate (different styles of LO's that celebrate celebrations!)
  5. 1980-something (Lo's about the 80's-really?)
  6. Dare to be different (Scrapbooking outside the square)
  7. Attention to Details (looking at the little things that make a big difference- embelishments)
  8. Artist Exhibtion (showcase)
Each chapter has one to two layouts per page. And a sprinkling of sidebars and features about the contrbuting artists. Mostly with questions like "Why does scrapbooking make you happy?" and "Do you have a favourite photo?" In my opinion it's a pretty lame attempt to help you to define your own style and a great opportunity for some scrapbook artists to make money showing off their style. There are some nice LO's in there and some stuff that may inspire you to go outside your comfort zone and beyond your personal style.

If you can get it super cheap then buy it for the eye candy- don't bother reading the text!
