Yesterday was Kieran's first Rugby Tournament. The school has a couple of Tackle teams and a few Ripper Rugby teams as well. Kieran played Tackle and yesterday they spent the whole day at the Kumeu Rugby Club grounds in Riverhead. Here's Kieran's report and photos from the day....

We arrived at school at 8:30am, organized transport and then went to the rugby club in Kumeu. My group of my team arrived last, but we started training immediately. There must have been 9 schools and about 30 teams for Rippa and Tackle. The coaches had a meeting at 9:30am, and the first games started at 10:15 we started our first match at 10:40 against Taupaki. One of the better games winning 25-10. We led from halftime 15-5. my highlight was setting up a try to my friend Kamen from a ruck. I then watched the Rippa teams. Ripppa Red lost 25-10 to a unknown team and Rippa White lost 50-0 to Kaukaupakapa. We then swapped shirts with Rippa Red during break for the game against Waimauku. We lost 20-15 but we had a better game due to passing. My highlight was breaking blindside offloading then doubling around to get the ball again. The other Rippa Rugby scores are unknown, but we had our blue jerseys back for the game against Riverhead. We lost 15-5, but it was still a good game. The whole game was a highlight.
